Preschool Room Staff

Mandy DePew

My name is Mandy DePew and am one of the lead teachers in the Preschool room.

I graduated from Arizona State University in December of 2004 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on the requirements to receive my Minnesota teaching license. I am looking forward to returning to school to earn my Master’s Degree in Curriculum Planning and Development.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is creating activities that make learning fun and that reaches the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each child.

“The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.” – John Lubbock

Ms. Connie

Hi, my name is Connie. I am a teacher in the Lake Harriet Christian Child Care Center’s Preschool Room. I have been a teacher there since December of 2005.

My education includes attending Minneapolis Community College for Early Childhood Development. I have also earned my Child Development Associate certificate.

I really enjoy reading stories to the children. Watching how the children grow and develop with my help really makes me proud.

Veronica Toledano-Gonzalez

Veronica has been teaching at Lake Harriet Christian Child Care Center since May of 2003. Prior to that she was an educator in Cancun, Mexico. Veronica is now one of 4 preschool teachers and loves to create art with the children as well as teach Spanish curriculum to the kids.

Mr. Matt

My name is Matt and I am one of the Teachers here in the preschool room. I went to school at Concordia University St. Paul, MN majoring in Education and Administration with a specialization of Youth Ministry. I have worked a s a youth director in Indiana for two years, a special Education Case manager at Southwest High School, and group home as a program director for several group homes.

I am currently going back to school to obtain a counseling licensing where I would like to work with children and youth in the church. I would like to help develop programs in the inner city for troubled youth and families.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my wonderful wife who is a teacher at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Richfield, MN. She is presently teaching third and fourth grade and has been at the school for the past six years. I l also love to run, play basketball, rollerblade and play my electric guitars. With all that, I am also a youth director for our senior high teens at Mt Calvary.

I look forward to learning more about your child and your family as we have a wonderful school year together learning and growing together.

God’s Peace, Matt
